How to add a game server to Steam favorites Print

Steam favorites provide a saved route to a game server even when the in-game browser does not return it in search results.

Add the server

1. Make sure the game server is online and has finished starting.
2. Open the Steam desktop client.
3. Open View, then Servers or Game Servers.
4. Select the Favorites tab and choose Add a Server.
5. Enter the address as IP:QueryPort, such as 123.45.67.89:27015.
6. Add the address, select the server, and connect.

Use the query port

The game port carries player traffic. The query port provides the name, map, ping, and player count to Steam. Favorites normally require the query port, so copy the correct value from your NovaGameHost game panel.

If Steam cannot find it

• Confirm the server is fully online rather than still starting.
• Try the listed query port instead of the game port.
• Remove any copied spaces or punctuation errors.
• If the correct query address remains unreachable, open a support ticket.

Many Steam games display the same saved servers under an in-game Favorites or Favorited tab.
