Using the correct power action protects world data and configuration files from corruption.
Start
Start the server only after installation, update, backup, or restore tasks have finished. Watch the console until the normal ready message appears before joining.
Stop
- Warn connected players and allow them time to save or log out.
- Use the panel's Stop button so the game can save data and shut down normally.
- Wait until the status changes to Offline.
Restart
Use Restart when available. Otherwise, stop the server, wait until it is fully offline, and then start it. Afterward, check the console for errors and test a connection.
Avoid Force Kill or Terminate unless the server is completely frozen and a normal stop has failed. A forced shutdown can lose recent progress or damage files.
Create a backup before game updates, mod changes, map changes, or major configuration work.
